Rising Rap Star Hero Spreads Holiday Cheer In “Araw Ng Kapaskuhan”

Rising rap star Hero just released his own brand of Christmas song!

The talented 21-year-old proudly brings us “Araw Ng Kapaskuhan”, spreading glad tidings this holiday season. Once again, Hero shows off his might in penning distinctly elegant verses, pulling out all stops in this four-minute jubilant Christmas treat.

The way he vividly describes “Paskong Pinoy” in his own and unique perspective is a laudable feat. He reminds everyone to be happy and forget all the bad vibes even just for this very special day of the year. “Wala munang konsumisyon / Lahat tayo dapat maligaya,” Hero raps on top of the thumping hip-hop beat.

Just like his debut single “Katulad” which rapidly became a popular track in TikTok, “Araw Ng Kapaskuhan” is produced by Russel “Goodson”Tiquia.

Just two weeks ago, Hero unveiled his second single “Reyna”. Since becoming part of the Universal Records artist roster not long ago, he’s been blessing us with a barrage of high-quality tracks. Just imagine the more exciting things he could possibly offer to all of us next year!

“Araw Ng Kapaskuhan” gracefully landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday Philippines playlist this week. Make sure to take a listen to this Christmas rap song right now on your favorite digital streaming platforms.

THE RANSOM COLLECTIVE MAKES A #1 COMEBACK WITH NEW SINGLE ‘I DON’T CARE’

Mustard Music proudly presents “I Don’t Care” the newest single from indie/folk-pop band The Ransom Collective.

Since releasing their debut album “Traces” in 2017, the band has undergone a creative rebirth — exploring new musical ideas, and experimenting between different styles and sounds that have led them to a fresh, modern reinvention on the sound listeners and fans have come to love them for.
“I Don’t Care” brings these ideas into fruition, as the first of many songs that came to be in this new era of The Ransom Collective. The song is about discovering oneself, and all the ugliness and beauty that comes with the process.
Prior to its release, the song took the top spot on the iTunes PH New Music Pre-Order Chart – proving even more successful as the single launched on May 3rd. Aside from topping the iTunes PH Alternative Chart, the head-bopping track also entered the iTunes PH All-genre chart, taking the highest spot for an OPM song. The band’s comeback song joins the big leagues of Taylor Swift & Brendon Urie, BTS, and BLACKPINK, who similarly have released new tracks for their longtime fans.

Talking about the song, lead vocalist Kian Ransom says, “I watched someone I love go through depression, and this song is essentially about the journey they went through and the empathy that’s required to understand someone who’s going through something so difficult.”

While the song tackles rather serious matters, its backing track provides a sense of fun and lightness – giving an upbeat, retro feel that will give listeners good vibes to sing and dance along to on repeat.
Coming into this brand new take on the TRC sound, band members mention Anderson Paak, Honne, Boy Pablo, Bon Iver, Prep, Crumb, Chance the Rapper, among many artists they’ve taken inspiration from.
If this song is any indication, long-time fans and new listeners have a lot of good music to look forward to from The Ransom Collective all-year round.
I Don’t Care is now available for streaming on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon Music, under mustard music. Watch out for its accompanying music video, premiering on MYX and YouTube on May 4th.

JOEY THA BOY DROPS LATEST TRACK ‘ANOTHA DAY’

A change of pace from his previous release “Fantasy (feat. Paolo Sandejas), the head-bopping track is a personification of Joey the Boy as an artist – flexing his skills in writing, making a beat, and showing off some personal swag as he raps about his rap idols, what makes him great, and what keeps him going from day to day.

Talking about the song, Joey says “it’s about my personal mindset towards my everyday life. I talk about my daily thought processes and opinions while implementing positivity towards them. I see a lot going wrong with the world, but I think we all shouldn’t be complacent with it. The song encapsulates my strive for to be great and make an impact as an artist.”

FRIEND ZONE Movie Thoughts: 5 Crazy Things We Do When Crazily In Love (or Broken)

fz-fb-banner-1FRIEND ZONE, the highest grossing Thai film of 2019 has hit Philippines this April 10. Starred by Nine Naphat and the familiar Baifern Pimchanok, whom you saw with Mario Maurer on the 2010 movie, Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Well, I guess this Thai girl is really good at bringing the crazy in love with this current top-grossing movie.  Find out the crazy relatable situations below from the movie, FRIEND ZONE.

5. Acting Detective Conan

What is more adventurous than solving the mystery if your lover is cheating on you? It will all start with an instinct (or your trust issues). Followed by a clue. And with every hint that leads you to the answer, it kills you. The moment you find out the answer, at least you die in smarty pants. Not a blind fool alive.

4. Taking Revenge

4.png

We want to get even. Maybe cheating back on them wouldn’t be as bad the crime they started off. Only to find out that we can’t, we could not cheat on them. Leaving us, even more, frustrated wondering how in the world could they cheat on us. Fine, this review is kind of heavy for a light, feel-good movie.

3. Seek rebound support, say UNINTENTIONALLY

3.jpg

You are hurt. You can’t think clearly and close to being irrational. All you need is to be supported emotionally because you are losing the grip of yourself. You may hang yourself and you need someone to convince you to get back your feet on the ground. Who else could do that better than a platonic friend? But what happens if this platonic friend gets wreally wreally good in supporting you emotionally? Well, handle it like a platonic pro. And don’t put your friend on the danger of FRIEND ZONE, just because you can.

2. Be a rebound friend, (UN)INTENTIONALLY

2.png

She badly needs emotional support to gather herself back together. Who else can do it better than you, her platonic friend? Someone who can make her set foot on the ground again when she hangs herself. But what if your emotional support is getting wreally wreally good it is making a way on her. Pop that little hope and don’t get yourself on the danger of FRIEND ZONE. Because man, she is a platonic pro.

1. FRIEND ZONE-ing people we love dearly

1.png

The friendship you built has stood the test of time, you can’t afford to lose it just because you wanted more. Better to have a little love that would last forever than having it all with a risk of losing it all. And maybe because being friends isn’t a runner up to his/her lover. Maybe it’s the real prize.  How about you? Why and how do you keep it as friends? Comment down below.

HIGHEST GROSSING THAI FILM OF 2019, FRIEND ZONE, TO HIT PHILIPPINE CINEMAS THIS APRIL 10

Everyone has a best friend. But what happens when you fall in love with your BFF? What happens if she just wants to stay friends? And what happens if she gets a boyfriend?

Friend Zone is the place that answers all these questions. Palm has been stuck in the friend zone with Gink for 10 years. During high school, he confessed his feelings for her but she just wanted to stay friends. One day out of the blue, Gink asks Palm if he ever wondered what if we were an item? But will leaving the “friend zone” be the beginning of a romantic love life or the end of Palm’s friendship with Gink?

Friend Zone, highest grossing Thai film this 2019,  stars Naphat Siangsomboon and Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul and is made by the producers of the films Bad Genius and Brother of the Year. The hit movie comes with a song which features the Philippines’ Claudia Barretto who also has a small cameo in the film.
